Jhené Aiko Bio

Jhene Aiko was birth on March 16, 1988, in the city of Los Angeles, California, in the United States of America. Her full name is Jhene Aiko Efuru Chilombo. She was one of four siblings and grew up in a financially middle-class home. Her doctor father, Dr. Karamo Chilombo, is of Afro-American and German origin. He is a board-certified pediatrician. Her mother, Christina Yamamoto, has Japanese and partly Spanish ancestry.

She is the sister of Jamila Akiko Mila Chilombo and Miyoko Chilombo. Her full name is Miyoko Chilombo. Miyagi Hasani Ayo Chilombo and Jahi Chilombo were her brothers. Miyagi Hasani Ayo Chilombo has now passed away., Her recollections from her youth of the dreadful LA Riots in 1992, which started in California in support of the victim of police brutality named Rodney King, are still very clear in her memory. The violence resulted in the deaths of over fifty persons and wounded over two thousand others.

Her older sisters, Jamila and Miyoko, were both well-known vocalists in the R&B musical group Gyrl before she joined the group. At age five, she demonstrated her singing abilities to the producer Chris Stokes, thanks to this. Jhene began creating rap rhymes when she was just seven years old. In addition to her love for music, she had a strong interest in writing when she was little.

Jhene Aiko caused a slight stir in her elementary school when she was only eight years old when she explained to her pupils the reason for the lyrics of Lil’ Kim’s filthy album ‘Hardcore.’ When she was a little child, her parents had a divorce. After that, she remained home with her mother and siblings. Additionally, she has three half-siblings from her father’s side of the family. Dio Chilombo, Kareena Chilombo, and Marcia Chilombo are her half-siblings. She also has a half-sister named Marcia. Her peers mocked her because she had a mixed ethnic background, so she chose to be educated at home instead.

Jhene Aiko is a well-known R&B singer and songwriter from the United States. She gained a lot of notoriety with the publication of her mix tape titled “Sailing Soul(s)” on her website in 2011. Her first job in the music industry was as a singer for the R&B band B2K while she was still in her early teens. She was presented to the crowd as the ‘cousin’ of B2K rapper Lil’ Fizz, a bogus advertising strategy intended to draw the audience’s attention. Her most successful songs are ‘Sail Out,’ ‘The Worst,’ ‘Uh Huh,’ and ‘Why I Love You.’ She debuted as a playback singer in 2002, when she contributed vocals to the song “Cherry Pie,” which was included in the soundtrack of the film “The Master of Disguise.”

She also appeared in the first music video for her ex-boyfriend O’Ryan, titled ‘Take It Slow.’ Most of her work is centered on music styles, including R&B, Hip-Hop, and Rap. Her reputation skyrocketed with the publication of her track “3:16 AM,” which she did under the auspices of the well-known publishing agency A&R. The song was made available for digital download on iTunes. When she collaborated with the Canadian rapper Drake on his album “Nothing Was the Same,” she catapulted to the forefront of the music industry on a global scale.

Her song “The Worst,” which was released in May 2014, topped the chart for “US Billboard R&B / Hip-Hop-Airplay” and achieved its highest point on the “Hot R&B / Hip-Hop Songs” list in the 11th place. In 2015, she was nominated for ‘Grammy Awards’ in three categories. Jhene Aiko had a musical upbringing thanks to her family’s solid musical roots. When Jhene was young, her older sisters Jamila and Miyoko had already begun their musical careers. At the age of twelve.

Jhene secured a recording contract with ‘Epic Music’ and became a member of the band B2K. She contributed her vocals to B2K’s first video album, ‘Uh Huh,’ which won the ‘BET Award’ for ‘Viewer’s Choice.’ In 2003, she made many attempts to release her first studio album, titled “My Name is Jhene,” via several record labels, including “Sony,” “The Ultimate Group,” and “Epic.” However, because of various conflicts with ‘Epic Music,’ the record was never distributed to the public. After that, she broke her links with ‘Epic’ and devoted herself to her academic pursuits.

After completing her education, she returned to the music scene in 2011 with the release of her first mixtape, titled “Sailing Soul(s),” which included performances by notable musicians such as Drake, Kayne West, and Miguel. Jhene could never go back to the way things were at that point. The following year, American Hip-Hop and R&B record producer Ernest Dion Wilson, a.k.a. No I.D., signed Jhene with ‘ARTium Recordings via ‘Def Jam.’ Jhene’s first album was titled ‘Jhene.’

In November 2013, she distributed her first extended play (EP) titled “Sail Out,” which quickly climbed to the top of the R&B chart. She released her first studio album, “Souled Out,” in September of the following year, and it quickly rose to the top of the “US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums” chart.

Between 2016 and 2017, she published several tracks, including ‘Maniac’ and ‘Hell Ego.’ She appeared in the new enticing release ‘First F*ck’ by 6LACK in February of 2017. In 2016, she worked with the American rapper Big Sean to create a hip-hop duet that went by the name ‘Twenty88.’ In April 2016, they released an album named simply after themselves. The album reached number one on the R&B charts in the United States and also got number five on the overall US Billboard 200 list.

In September 2017, she released her second studio album under her name, “Trip.” The album included cameos from Big Sean, Chris Brown, and the artist’s daughter, Namiko Love. The RIAA awarded the record with the gold certification since it was a commercial success. Aiko released “Triggered (freestyle)” in May 2019, after a year in which she supported artist Lana Del Rey on tour and opened for her in 2018. It was her first official single from her upcoming album, fulfilling that function.
