Many of Cheers’ cast members went on to have successful careers in other fields: Harrelson went on to become a successful motion picture actor; Danson went on to star in a number of television shows and films; and Grammer reprised his Cheers character in a hugely popular spin-off series, Frasier (1993–2004).

“Frasier” was an American situation comedy television series that ran for 11 seasons on the National Broadcasting Company (NBC) network between 1993 and 2004. In the late twentieth century, one of the most successful American television shows was Frasier, which was both praised by critics and beloved by audiences.

Frasier was a television series that was based on the character Dr. Frasier Crane (played by Kelsey Grammer), who appeared on the iconic NBC comedy Cheers from 1982 to 1993. After his marriage failed, Crane relocated from Boston to Seattle, where he presented a call-in advice show on AM radio. When the show initially aired, Crane was a psychiatrist working as a consultant. Frasier’s persona was pompous and arrogant while still being emotionally vulnerable, and his neuroses were a perfect fit for ironic comedy, which was appropriate considering his profession. In example, there were several episodes where Frasier and his family, particularly his ex-policeman father Martin, were at odds with one another because of their different cultural upbringings (John Mahoney). Frasier’s younger brother, Niles (David Hyde Pierce), was a pretentious, self-absorbed psychologist in the same vein as his older brother. Martin was forced to move in with Frasier due to an injury at the start of the series, while Niles utilised his brother’s high-rise condominium as a haven from his dissatisfying marriage. Both strong competitors and occasional confidants, the brothers’ sensitive, elite pretensions collided with their father’s harsh, down-to-earth outlook on life on a regular basis. As a final addition to the main ensemble, Martin’s eccentric Mancunian caretaker, Daphne Moon (Jane Leeves), and Frasier’s radio producer, Roz Doyle, joined the show (Peri Gilpin).
