Kimberley Walsh Bio

Kimberly Walsh is a British singer, actress, and TV presenter, although she is most well-known for her time spent as a member of the all-girl musical group Girls Aloud. Born in Bradford, West Yorkshire, Walsh had aspirations of being an actor when he was a boy. During his childhood, he participated in several musical plays and did some commercial work. Walsh played the role of Sally McDonald in the British television soap series Emmerdale from 1997 to 2000.

She tried out for the reality television singing competition Popstars: The Rivals in 2002 and was ultimately selected to participate in the show. During the course of the program, Walsh formed the group Girls Aloud along with other participants, Nadine Coyle, Sarah Harding, Nicola Roberts, and Cheryl Cole, who went on to win the competition. Girls Aloud recorded a string of critically acclaimed albums in the years after their appearance on the program, including 2003’s Sound of the Underground, 2004’s What Will the Neighbours Say?, 2005’s Chemistry, 2007’s Tangled Up, and 2008’s Out of Control.

In addition to her work with Girls Aloud, Louise Walsh has been a presenter on some other television programs, one of which is The X Factor. She was cast as Princess Fiona in the West End theatre production of Shrek: The Musical beginning in October 2011 and continuing until May of 2012. She competed in the 2012 season of Strictly Come Dancing, which was broadcast on the BBC. Center Stage was Walsh’s first album as a solo artist, and it was released in 2013. The album consisted of renditions of songs from Broadway musicals.

Walsh was the child of John and Diane Walsh and was born in Bradford. In the nearby community of Allerton, she spent her childhood with her older sister Sally, her younger brother Adam, and her younger sister Amy. Sally McDonald played Lyn Hutchinson in the soap series Emmerdale from 1997 to 2000. Her appearances on the show took place over those years. She went to Sandy Lane First School, Stoney Lee Middle School, and Beckfoot Grammar School, which is located near Bingley. Walsh had her first taste of celebrity as a youngster when she and her sister Sally appeared in an advertisement for George for ASDA.

In a local production of Les Misérables, she played the role of Young Cosette and featured in an episode of The Book Tower on ITV. Walsh was also a student at the Bradford-based theatre school Stage 84 for a significant amount of time and served as an instructor there for a short period. In 2002, Walsh sang “Where Do Broken Hearts Go” for the producers of the reality television program Popstars: The Rivals during his audition for the show. Thousands of hopefuls presented themselves at auditions all across the UK, hoping they would be chosen.

The three judges, Pete Waterman, Louis Walsh, and Geri Halliwell, each selected ten girls and ten guys to compete in the final round. Walsh was not chosen as one of the ten female candidates who would compete in the program when the competition first began. She might not have been able to appear on the program if but the fact that another competitor was eliminated due to a technicality. After that, these finalists participated in live performances every Saturday night, alternating between the girls and the males each week. These performances were held in front of an audience.

The competitor who received the fewest phone votes was removed from the competition each week until the final line-ups of the groups were determined. A public vote took place on the program on November 30, 2002, and the result was the formation of a new female group called Girls Aloud. Walsh was one of the five members that joined Nadine Coyle, Sarah Harding, Nicola Roberts, and Cheryl Cole to establish the group.

The group’s first single, “Sound of the Underground,” became the most popular song in the United Kingdom during the holiday season of 2002 after reaching the highest position possible on the UK Singles Chart. Girls Aloud now hold the record for the quickest amount of time it took for a band to get from their inception to number one. In May 2003, the band released their first studio album, Sound of the Underground. The album debuted at number two on the charts and was subsequently awarded platinum certification by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) later that same year.

Since 2003, Girls Aloud have issued twenty other singles, all but one of which have charted inside the top 10, with fifteen of those songs achieving places within the top five. They have reached number one on the charts with the songs “I’ll Stand by You,” “Walk This Way,” and “The Promise.” Their most excellent hits album, titled The Sound of Girls Aloud, and their album released in 2008, titled Out of Control, both debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart. The first of these two albums have sold over one million copies, while the latter has sold less than half of that amount. The British Phonographic Industry has awarded the band five platinum certifications for their studio albums.

They have been nominated for a total of five Brit Awards, and in 2009, they took home the trophy for “Best British Single” for “The Promise,” which was released by the promise I make. Ten million albums have been sold all over the globe by the band. As of May 2009, Girls Aloud had earned a fortune of £25 million, making them one of the very few artists to emerge from the United Kingdom’s reality television scene to enjoy sustained success. In the Guinness World Records edition published in 2007, they were recognized as the “Most Successful Reality TV Group.” In the edition published in 2008, they were recognized as holding the record for “Most Consecutive Top Ten Entries in the UK by a Female Group.” The “Official Charts Company” recognized Girls Aloud as the female group that amassed the most sales in the 21st century in 2012.

Girls Aloud announced in July 2009 that they would disband for one year to work on individual projects but that they would get back together to record a new studio album in 2010. Nicola Roberts, another member of the band, said in August 2010 that she anticipated a reunion of the band in the year 2012. Kimberley Walsh has said that contrary to what she previously believed, she does not believe that it is conceivable for Girls Aloud to ever “formally split up.” She said they have plans to travel again and would most likely take vacations from time to time to work on individual projects. However, she emphasized that they will never go their own ways in a permanent capacity.

Girls Aloud got back together for their 10th-anniversary performance after a break that lasted for three years. On November 18, 2012, the band will release its newest song, “Something New.” The music video for the song was shot in October 2012, and it was uploaded on YouTube for the first time on October 19 of that same year. Additionally, “Children in Need” has adopted this track as their official charity single. In addition, the band is planning to release their second greatest hits collection titled Ten on November 26, 2012. The band plans to go on the Ten: The Hits Tour 2013 next year. They announced their breakup not long after the tour came to an end.

Although nothing has been verified, it was first speculated that Walsh was on the verge of signing a record contract with Fascination Records, the record company that her band is signed to. Soon after the rumor spread, Walsh confirmed on Suck My Pop, a show that she co-hosts on the digital TV network Viva, that she would be featured on the forthcoming song “Like U Like” by the English rapper Aggro Santos. She will debut with this song as a solo artist, marking her departure from Girls Aloud for the first time. It was requested of Walsh for OK! Magazine: “There are rumors going around that you will be releasing a solo album, Kimberley…,” and Walsh said, “Gosh! I’m afraid I don’t have any intentions of carrying out your suggestion.

Gary Barlow was the one who signed Aggro Santos, and he was the one who requested me to sing “Like U Like.” Additionally, I recorded a song named “Everybody Dance” for the Horrid Henry movie in which I star. Just yet, I’m not ready to commit to something significant on my own.” She played Princess Fiona in the London production of Shrek the Musical in 2012, which marked the beginning of her career on the West End stage. After having previously revealed that she was expecting in August 2011, Amanda Holden made the news shortly afterward.

The rendition of Queen’s “One Vision” that Walsh and Alfie Boe recorded as the Official Olympic Team Great Britain Single was a collaboration between the two artists. Walsh has also collaborated with several other musicians, such as Neyo on the song “Hate That I Love You,” Ronan Keating on the song “No Matter What,” and James Cullum on the theme “Rainy Days and Mondays.” It was stated in August 2012 that Walsh was in conversation with Gary Barlow to create a solo album for a release in 2013. The album is scheduled for 2013.

The announcement that Walsh will be one of the 14 celebrities participating in the tenth season of Strictly Come Dancing was done on September 7, 2012. Her professional partner is Pasha Kovalev, who was the runner-up in the competition the year before. She got three perfect 40s over the series, and she ended as one of the runners-up with broadcaster Denise Van Outen, behind the winner Olympian Louis Smith.

Her first studio album, Centre Stage, was issued by Decca Records on February 4, 2013, and comprises some well-known musical pieces in addition to two new compositions. The album was published on February 4, 2013. She revealed in the Daily Mail in July 2013 that she had returned to the recording studio and was working on her second studio album for release in 2014.

A Whole Lot of History is the title of Walsh’s self-authored autobiography, which she has also written. The publication date of the book is set for September 26, 2013. Walsh has also disclosed that book signings would be held in several locations around the UK.
