Lauren Cohan Bio

The British-American actress and model Lauren Cohan was born on January 7, 1982. She is most known for her role as Maggie Greene in the post-apocalyptic horror television series The Walking Dead, which aired on AMC from 2011 to 2018 and again from 2020 to 2022. She also reprises her role in The Walking Dead: Dead City, which airs from 2023 to the current day.

Bela Talbot in the dark fantasy drama Supernatural (2007–2008), Rose in the supernatural teen drama The Vampire Diaries (2010–2012), Vivian McArthur Volkoff in the action comedy Chuck (2011), and Francesca “Frankie” Trowbridge in the action comedy-drama Whiskey Cavalier (2019) are only a few of the other notable roles that she has played on television.

Among the films in which she has appeared are the comedic picture Van Wilder: The Rise of Taj (2006), the psychological thriller-horror film The Boy (2016), the biographical drama All Eyez on Me (2017), and the action thriller Mile 22 (2018). When she was attending Fullbrook School in Surrey, her religious education teacher was Richard Clutterbuck. Richard Clutterbuck is the elder brother of actor Andrew Lincoln, who would later become her co-star on The Walking Dead.

Cherry Hill was one of many places Cohan called home before her family relocated to the United Kingdom; she also spent a year in Georgia.
When Lauren’s mother remarried, she converted to Judaism, formally changing Lauren’s surname to that of her stepfather, Cohan. Lauren Cohan converted to Judaism at age five and subsequently participated in a Bat Mitzvah celebration.

As a result of her mother and father’s subsequent marriages, Cohan is the sole child of her parents. However, she does have a large number of younger half-siblings. Before embarking on a tour with a theater group she co-founded at the university, Cohan received a Bachelor of Arts in drama and English literature from King Alfred’s College, Winchester, now known as the University of Winchester.

After making her debut in the film Casanova (2005), in which she played the role of Sister Beatrice, Cohan went on to feature in the sequel to Van Wilder (2002), titled Van Wilder: The Rise of Taj, in the role of Charlotte Higginson in 2006. It was in the film Float (2008) that she played her subsequent part. She has a leading role in the supernatural horror film The Boy, released in 2016, and she was cast in Death Race 2 in February 2010.

In 2016, she also portrayed the role of Martha Wayne, Batman’s mother who had passed away, in the film Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. A year later, in 2017, she played the role of Leila Steinberg in the historical drama All Eyez on Me. In 2007, Cohan was cast in the character of Bela Talbot in the third season of Supernatural, which was her first significant supporting role. This position is also often referred to as a season lead.

A thief acquires precious supernatural things to sell them to wealthy and influential individuals in the magical realm. The character made her last appearance in the “Time Is on My Side” episode of the third season, which was the penultimate episode of the series. She featured in a total of six episodes. In the television series The Vampire Diaries, Cohan portrayed the recurrent character Rose, a vampire who was 560 years old.

In 2011, she became a recurring cast member on the television series Chuck, portraying the part of Vivian McArthur Volkoff, a “charming, sophisticated socialite” from the United Kingdom. She is also the daughter of Alexei Volkoff, the principal antagonist of the show from the beginning. Several television episodes, including Archer, Cold Case, CSI: New York, Life, and Modern Family, featured her as a guest star.

Heavenly was a pilot that was produced by The CW in 2011. In the pilot, Cohan portrayed the central role of Lily, an attorney who partners with an angel. Unfortunately, the pilot was not picked up for a series. The most significant part that Cohan played was that of Maggie Greene, who would eventually become Maggie Rhee, on The Walking Dead. This post-apocalyptic horror television series airs on AMC and is based on the comic book series of the same name.

In the second season, she debuted as a recurring character; however, only at the beginning of the third season did she become a series regular. In 2015, the drama was the series that received the most outstanding ratings in cable television history. According to the terms of her contract, Cohan fulfilled all her commitments as a series regular by the time the eighth season of The Walking Dead ended.

As a result of a compensation disagreement, it was revealed that Cohan had not agreed to come on for season nine as a key cast member. She wanted an increased salary closer to the earnings of her male co-stars, Andrew Lincoln and Norman Reedus. After receiving a refusal from AMC, Cohan started making herself available for television pilots.

Following the conclusion of negotiations, Cohan finally agreed to make a guest appearance in five episodes during the first half of the ninth season of The Walking Dead. He left the show in 2018. At the beginning of 2018, while she was in the process of negotiating a contract with AMC for The Walking Dead, Cohan was cast in the role of Francesca “Frankie” Trowbridge, a CIA agent, in the ABC action comedy-drama Whiskey Cavalier.

In May 2018, Whiskey Cavalier was selected for a series, making its debut on February 24, 2019.ABC has decided not to continue airing the sitcom for a second season. Rumors were circulating in October 2019 that Cohan might be returning to The Walking Dead as a series regular for the eleventh and last season of the original television show. Following the completion of the series, Cohan was featured opposite Jeffrey Dean Morgan in the spinoff series The Walking Dead: Dead City. Jeff Morgan also appeared in the series.
