The Runaways were an all-female rock band, and she and Joan Jett were both members of the band. During the mid-1980s, he dated Nikki Sixx, who was a member of the heavy metal band Motley Crüe. At the age of 11, she began playing the guitar and soon after joined the all-girl rock band The Runaways. Her fourth solo album, “Lita,” which she released in 1988, was certified platinum, and Guitar magazine named her the Best Female Guitarist (1989).

She was one of the three women considered for the Grammy Award for Best Female Rock Performance that year (1984), along with Wendy O. Williams and Pia Zadora.  “Kiss Me Deadly” and “Close My Eyes Forever” are two of her hit tracks that she released under her own name as a solo artist. On the LOU album “The Other Side,” Lita made a one-of-a-kind appearance as a guest musician.

Lita played the guitar and provided the vocals for the song “I Want to Be Loved” (2005). Listed at number 95 on VH1’s list of the 100 sexiest artists. In the movie “The Runaways,” she is portrayed by Scout Taylor-Compton (2010).

For this reason, and much to Lita’s joy, fans have fondly dubbed her “Twisted Sister’s Twisted Sister.” The introduction was written by her close friend Dee Snider, with whom she has regularly shared a performance stage. Located in Florida at the present time. Even though previous attempts to reunite The Runaways have been unsuccessful, there is still a good chance that they may do so in the future (2002).

They performed together onstage for the first time in over three decades after she surprised Cherie Currie with the Rock Legend Award at the Malibu Music Awards in 2013. This past October (2013) Her ancestry may be traced back to both England and Italy. is only three days older than Joan Jett, her bandmate in the Runaways. Lita Rossana Ford, better known as Lita Ford, is a guitarist, vocalist, and composer who was born in the United Kingdom and raised in the United States.

She is most known for her time spent in the late 1970s as the lead guitarist for the all-girl hard rock band The Runaways. They were discovered in the rock world thanks to the punkish tone of their music and the rebellious lyrics that they used. The band was unable to achieve significant levels of success in the United States, but they did garner a significant amount of popularity elsewhere, particularly in Japan.

Following the dissolution of the band in 1979, Ford launched a highly successful solo career in the heavy metal genre. She then went on to record two solo albums, the first of which was titled “Out for Blood,” and the second was titled “Dancin’ on the Edge.” Ford just disappeared from the rock scene for a few years after the release of both albums, which did not achieve much commercial success.

Her comeback was a spectacular success with the publication of her album titled “Lita,” which came out in the year 1988. Both the track “Kiss Me Deadly” and the ballad “Close My Eyes Forever” were tremendously successful in the music industry. Unfortunately, she was only successful for a short period of time before disappearing from the industry for a number of years.

She first made her comeback with the album ‘Black,’ which was released in 1995, and then with ‘Wicked Wonderland,’ which was released over 15 years later. The year 2016 saw the release of her most recent studio album, titled “Time Capsule.” The Guitar Player magazine recognized her as a Certified Guitar Legend and bestowed the title onto her.

She started learning how to play the guitar when she was 11 years old, after being motivated to do so by Ritchie Blackmore’s work with Deep Purple. At the age of 16, Lita Ford tried out for a girl band that consisted entirely of teenagers in 1975.

After impressing the band’s organizer, Kim Fowley, she was invited to join the rock band the Runaways. The band was able to secure a recording contract in 1976, the same year that they released their first studio album. Despite the fact that the band received great accolades from the media and that they went on tour during the 1970s, the record did not pick up sufficient momentum to be successful.

The Runaways issued four studio albums between 1976 and 1978, but none of them were able to make a significant impact. By 1977, the band was troubled by internal problems, and soon after, producer Fowley, lead singer Cherie Currie, and bassist Jackie Fox quit the band. Cherie Currie had been the band’s main singer since 1975. The relationships amongst the other group members were strained as well.

Despite the fact that vocalist and guitarist Joan Jett desired for the band to adopt a sound that was more heavily influenced by the Ramones’ brand of punk rock, band members Ford and Sandy West were adamant about maintaining the band’s reputation for playing powerful hard rock tunes. Because neither party was ready to make concessions, the band was eventually forced to disband in April of 1979.

Following the dissolution of the Runaways, Ford began laying the groundwork for the launch of a solo career. 1983 marked the release of her first album under her own name, titled “Out for Blood.” The record was a failure on both the commercial and critical fronts. The year 1984 saw the release of her album titled “Dancin’ on the Edge.” It was moderately successful, and people in the rock world began to take notice of her.

Both “Fire in My Heart” and “Gotta Let Go” were successful singles that charted in the top ten of the rock music charts. After that, she put the management of her recordings in the hands of Sharon Osbourne Management. She got a recording contract with RCA Records and developed a sound that could be played on the radio. In 1988, she released the self-produced album ‘Lita’, which became immensely successful.

The album contained a number of hit singles, including “Kiss Me Deadly,” “Back to the Cave,” “Close My Eyes Forever,” and “Falling in and Out of Love,” among others. She published the album ‘Stiletto’ in 1990, which included singles like ‘Hungry’ and ‘Lisa’, which she dedicated to her mother. Unfortunately, the record was not a commercial success.

The next year, 1991, saw the publication of her album titled Dangerous Curves. It included the single “Shot of Poison,” which was her final single to enter the charts and was featured on the album. Her subsequent album, titled “Black,” was released without making any significant effect. Between the years 1996 and 2007, Ford was absent from the field of music production and performance.

It was a choice decision, as she wanted to prioritize her family. She had two children in the coming years and focused on raising them. On October 6, 2009, she released the album under the title “Wicked Wonderland.” JLRG Entertainment is responsible for its production. In May 2011, she made a vow to return with an album similar to ‘Lita,’ and she delivered on that promise by releasing the album ‘Living Like a Runaway’ in June of 2012.

In some ways, the album was consistent with her previous work, as was promised; yet, it was not commercially successful. In 2016, Ford issued an album titled “Time Capsule,” which once again was unsuccessful in making any kind of impact. In 2018, she started making appearances in an AXS TV series called “The Top Ten Revealed,” which explores a variety of topics in each episode of the show.

The second solo album released by Lita Ford, titled “Dancin’ on the Edge,” was only modestly successful, but one of its singles, titled “Fire in My Heart,” made it into the top ten on the charts in a number of nations other than the United States. Additionally successful on the charts was the single titled “Gotta Let Go,” which climbed all the way to the top spot on the Mainstream Rock charts.
