In the end, I had to give up the house, the wife, my reputation, and my entire entourage. My soul had been snatched away from me. I was on my own… I’m fine with it now, but the first time I’m in there, wheeling a f***ing cart, picking out my dinner, I’m not so sure. Because I frequented a 24-hour establishment in a homosexual town, no one ever recognised me. My money was only going to a therapist because it was the only thing I could afford. For the first two years, I went three times a week. It was once a week for a year, and now it’s once a week. Just twice in the past six years have I missed a meeting.

For three and a half years, I suffered from symptoms of brain injury, such as forgetting what I had done the night before. You become immune to pain. If you don’t leave when your doctor tells you to, you’ll spend the rest of your life on the streets of queer neighbourhoods. Our “neurological report” didn’t look good before a huge fight, one doctor told me. When I was about three fights away from a major event, he said, ” “Is Mickey getting paid enough? You won’t be able to keep track of the money if you look at your tests “For more information, please see the following link:

I’ve spent a lot of time talking to my priest. Whenever there was an eruption, I would have to call him or the therapist since I was really good at avoiding communicating to anyone until then. My priest is a hip New Yorker of Italian descent. I open a bottle of wine with him in his basement as we chat. During our smoke break, I’ll make a confession. He instructs me to pray the Hail Marys in my room. Obviously, I’m no Holy Joe, but I do have a deep faith. I would have killed myself if I wasn’t a Catholic. I’d turn to God in prayer. “Can you please send me just a sliver of sunlight?”
