Olivia Munn Bio

American actress Olivia Munn is best known for her role as Evie in the television series Tales of the Walking Dead, which airs on AMC. Munn is the son of Kimberly Nguyen and Winston Munn, born in Oklahoma City. Her father’s family hails originally from Germany, Ireland, and England. Her mother, of Chinese descent, came to the United States in 1975 as a refugee from Vietnam after the end of the Vietnam War. After arriving in the United States, she resided in Oklahoma, where she met Munn’s father.

After moving, the family established their new home in Utah, where they remained until 1986. Afterward, Munn’s stepfather was sent to Yokota Air Base near Tachikawa in Tokyo, Japan. It was there that she spent the years that shaped her personality. She says that she could communicate in Japanese when she was a youngster.

When Munn was 16 years old, her mother got a divorce from her stepfather and came back to Oklahoma City with the three children. After spending her junior and senior years at Putnam City North High School, Munn continued her education at the University of Oklahoma, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism while completing minors in Japanese and dramatic arts.

In November 2017, Munn accused film director Brett Ratner of sexually assaulting her and engaging in a pattern of sexual harassment against her. She also accused Ratner of routinely sexually harassing her. Her participation in the Me Too and Time’s Up campaigns and her public declarations in favor of both causes are examples of her support.

From 2014 to 2017, Munn was in a relationship with Aaron Rodgers, a quarterback for the NFL. In 2021, she started a relationship with the comedian John Mulaney, and in September of that year, the couple revealed that Munn was expecting their first child together. On November 24, 2021, they welcomed a boy into the world. The couple decided to pay homage to Munn’s Vietnamese ancestry by giving their kid the middle name Hip.

Late in 2005, Munn debuted the character of teenage surfer Mily Acuna in the television drama Beyond the Break, which ran for two seasons and was shown during the time slot known as The N on Noggin. She finds satisfaction in surfing and continues to compete in it. She first tried out for the part of Kai Kealoha, but the producers were looking for a “local girl” instead. In addition, you may see her in the movie “The Road to Canyon Lake.”

Attack of the Show! It is a popular program that airs on the G4 network. In 2006, Munn was chosen as the contest winner to select a new co-host to replace Kevin Rose, who was leaving the show. After that, on April 10, she started sharing hosting duties with Kevin Pereira. She took over for Sarah Lane, who was filling in temporarily. At first, the network was wholly committed to the world of video games, and the culture surrounding video games was reluctant to recruit Munn.

She was self-assured in her technological skills, even though she freely admitted that playing video games was one of her “weak points.” She was featured on the program in a part called “In Your Pants,” which deals with sex and relationship issues from viewers. Anna David, a journalist, was her co-host for the segment. While working on Attack of the Show!, she presented an online podcast for G4 called Around the Net, which was once known as The Daily Nut, and a show about American drift racing called Formula D, which has since been canceled.

In December 2010, she announced her departure from Attack of the Show!, and Candace Bailey was hired to take her place. She appeared in the Rob Schneider movie Big Stan (2007), in which she portrayed the role of Maria, the receptionist for Schneider’s character. She showed a nurse working at a mental institution in the horror movie Insanitarium, one of her most notable roles to date.

Since the first episode of the Disney Junior animated series Miles from Tomorrowland in January 2015, Munn has provided the voice for Phoebe Callisto. Psylocke, also known as Elizabeth Braddock, was portrayed by Munn in the 2016 film X-Men: Apocalypse. Despite receiving various opinions from critics, the movie was a commercial success, generating over $500 million throughout the globe. The same year, Munn starred as a technical supervisor in the comedic film Office Christmas Party, where she had a prominent part.

In addition, she played the lead part of a CIA agent in the television series Six and was a guest judge on the thirteenth season of America’s Got Talent during the second episode of the season devoted to the Judge Cuts competition. In addition, Munn played the role of a scientist in the science fiction horror thriller The Predator, which was released in 2018 and is the fourth film in the Predator series.

After the movie was released, it was discovered that Munn’s co-star, Steven Wilder Striegel, with whom she had a scene, was a registered sex offender who had preyed on a 14-year-old girl. Striegel had preyed on the girl while he was acting in the movie. When Munn found out about this, she immediately let the other cast members know and asked 20th Century Fox to remove the sequence from the film. The studio complied with her request.

Following that, Munn was cast in the leading role in the romantic comedy film Love Wedding Repeat (2020), a remake of the French film Plan de Table that was distributed on Netflix. In 2011, Munn participated in the Green Your School Challenge that Dosomething.org hosted. She served as a judging panel member and a campaign spokesman by producing a public service announcement (PSA) about the competition.

Munn assisted PETA in a campaign that finally resulted in releasing an ailing elephant from the custody of a traveling circus. It was attributed to her blog that she writes for The Huffington Post to push readers to contact the USDA on behalf of the elephant. In April 2010 and again in January 2012, Munn appeared in the “I’d Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur” ad that PETA runs.

In February 2013, Munn played a prominent role in the PETA release of a new film demonstrating the terrible treatment of animals on Chinese fur farms. She has an appearance in the 2021 short film Save Ralph, which is a film concerning animal experimentation and was produced by Humane Society International.

Following the COVID-19 outbreak, Munn has used her position to speak out against anti-Asian attitudes, harassment, and attacks that have occurred. Alongside Stop AAPI Hate co-founder Russell Jeung and RISE founder and CEO Amanda Nguyen, Munn participated in a roundtable discussion hosted by CBS News titled “Asian Americans Battling Bias: Continuing Crisis.”
