Born on December 27, 1971, in Melbourne, Australia, Savannah Guthrie is a broadcast journalist with the National Broadcasting Company and a former attorney. Guthrie and her family relocated to Tucson, Arizona, when she was only two. Guthrie spent the rest of her childhood there. After receiving her diploma from Amphitheater High School in Tucson, Guthrie promptly enrolled in the journalism program at the University of Arizona. Guthrie has always had an interest in the field of journalism. She graduated from the institution with the Cumulative Honors Diploma in 1993.
The recent college student began her professional life in Columbia, Missouri, where she worked as a broadcaster at the television station KMIZ, owned and operated by A.B.C. for two years. She started working for the National Broadcasting Company’s KVOA in 1995 and remained there for five years before moving to Washington, District of Columbia, to begin working for WRC-TV. During her time there, she received valuable experience in broadcasting by reporting on significant events, such as the assault on the Pentagon on September 11, 2001, and the outbreak of anthrax in 2001. During this period, the rising broadcaster sought a law degree and enrolled at Georgetown University Law Center.
There, she got her Juris Doctor degree and graduated with a magna cum laude, both of which are prestigious honors. After receiving her legal degree, she took the bar exam in Arizona. She got the highest score possible, leading to her becoming a bar member in both the District of Columbia and Arizona. In addition, she was a member of the Order of the Coif, where she was recognized with the International Academy of Trial Lawyers Student Advocacy award for her work with women who had been victims of domestic abuse. Guthrie was also an associate at a legal firm, where he worked as a litigation associate and specialized in defending white-collar criminals.
She became a trial correspondent for CourtTV in 2007, where she aired various cases nationwide, including the Michael Jackson trial and the Martha Stewart case. She also combined her passion for journalism and the law to become a trial reporter for CourtTV. In the latter part of that year, she held the position of White House reporter for N.B.C. News. Within the same year, she began working as a news anchor for the N.B.C. and a replacement anchor for the Nightly News on the channel.
While continuing to serve as a co-anchor on the Today Show, she was also given the position of chief legal expert for N.B.C. News. Ann Curry was her predecessor in this role. In 2011, she was promoted to chief legal editor for the program. The accomplished journalist started her broadcasting career in 1993 at the KMIZ television station of the A.B.C. network shortly after completing her high school education. She went on to get a degree in journalism almost as soon as she graduated from high school.
Guthrie pursued a legal education with the development of her profession as a journalist, culminating in the receipt of a Juris Doctor degree in the year 2002. Guthrie returned to broadcasting after a brief stint as a practicing attorney, and he is now widely regarded as one of the most credible news anchors at the N.B.C. Savannah Guthrie got a position at a television station in her home state of Missouri after completing her journalism studies.
She remained there for two years before moving on to KVOA. This was a Tucson-based station, an N.B.C. News affiliate, broadcast from there. 1995 was the year in question. She went to a different media business in the year 2000. During the terrorist assault on the Twin Towers and the Pentagon, she worked at WRC-TV, where she was exposed to the front-page media coverage. She also reported on other notable events, such as the anthrax assaults carried out in the United States against prominent figures.
Guthrie returned to journalism after dabbling in the legal system for a while by studying and working as an attorney. In 2007, she became a reporter for N.B.C. News, where she was assigned to the legal journalism team. The year after that, Savannah Guthrie served in a temporary capacity in the White House. Guthrie continued to work as a correspondent for the White House until 2011. Her appearances at Sarah Palin’s 2008 campaign rallies for the Republican vice presidential nomination were among the most famous of her public appearances.
Additionally, Guthrie has covered in-depth interviews with other White House staff members, including former President Barack Obama and members of his administration. In addition to his position in the White House, Guthrie was also a regular anchor of the Nightly News at the N.B.C. News Studios.
Guthrie relocated to the headquarters of N.B.C. News in the year 2011. She was given the role of host for the morning television chat program Today, which is broadcast on N.B.C. News. Since then, she has continued to attend the concert. As Today’s anchor, Guthrie has interviewed various famous people. Among them are notable persons such as Donald Trump and Dr. Conrad Murray, amongst other prominent people.
In addition to her successful career as a news anchor, Savannah Guthrie is a mother of two and the wife of Michael Feldman, a public relations and communications expert. Guthrie and Feldman tied the knot in 2014, and Guthrie has been a full member of the Feldman family ever since. 2014 saw the birth of the couple’s first child, and 2016 brought them their second child. Guthrie was previously married to Mark Orchard, a broadcaster for the British Broadcasting Corporation (B.B.C.), from 2005 to 2009, when she wed Feldman.
