Tamar Braxton Bio

Singer-songwriter-actress-TV-personality Tamar Braxton has a huge fanbase in the United States. She started singing backup for her sister when she was 12 years old, a sibling for whom she’d always had a profound and persistent devotion. The dream of making a living as a singer was always a driving force in her life. When she and her sisters formed the American R&B vocal group The Braxtons and released their debut album, it was like a dream come true.

She also began her solo career by signing with DreamWorks Records and releasing her debut album. Whitney Houston, upon hearing Braxton perform when she was only 14 years old, said, “She has the makings of a future superstar.” The young woman became even more determined to reach her objectives as a result of this. In addition to her singing career, Braxton has also established herself as a successful television program creator, star, and host.

There are many such examples of her ingenuity. Braxton did not give up on her music career because there was a period in which she did not perform as well as planned. That was when she began devoting more of her attention to her television career. Her second album, “Love and War,” marked her return to the music scene, and it was a commercial triumph.

Not only that, but she’s also debuted her own own fashion line, dubbed “Get Your Life.”
She has had a passion for music ever since she was a small child, when she first started singing. She and her siblings sang in the church choir when they were younger.
She left high school before completing it.

Tamar Braxton is one of the five Braxton sisters who formed the R&B vocal group The Braxtons. In 1990, the band released their first single, a song called “Good Life.” Arista Records ended their contract with the performer because of the song’s dismal sales. Toni left the group to pursue a solo career, but the other sisters, including Tamar, still appeared in the music video for one of her singles, “Seven Whole Days.”

By 1996, the sisters had returned with a new album named “So Many Ways,” which debuted at No. 26 on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. Tamar signed a recording contract with DreamWorks Records in 1998 to pursue a solo career. Her first solo effort, named “Ridiculous,” featured a plethora of musical genres.
However, it had zero impact on urban radio stations.

Dreamworks Records did not destroy the album but instead renamed it “Tamar” after three songs had been taken off the original release and replaced with new ones (2000). After the new songs didn’t do as well, her record label dropped her. Her unreleased song “Try Me” was used on the film’s soundtrack CD for “Kingdom Come” in 2001. She started writing music and appearing in music videos, including a cameo in the music video for “He Wasn’t Man Enough.”

She also contributed to Toni’s albums by singing in the background and creating songs together. She released the single “I’m Leaving” in 2004 and began recording her second album that same year. She released a second single that year. She signed with Universal Records and put out a track called “The Heart in Me” in 2010, which was included on the Adidas 2: The Music compilation album. Braxton, her mom, and her sisters all starred in their own WEtv reality show the next year, titled “Braxton Family Values.”

On April 12, 2011, the premiere episode was broadcast. Tamar Braxton and her then-husband Vince announced in 2011 that they would star in and produce their own reality show under the name “Tamar & Vince.” The show would focus on Braxton’s solo career and their married life. The following year, she returned and renewed her contract with Streamline Records (2012).

Because her career in music was not progressing as she had hoped, she began engaging in a variety of other activities. During the ‘ELLE/Style360’ New York City Fashion Week, she walked the runway as a model for the collection titled “Front Row Couture.” She was also a co-host on the discussion show “Tiny Tonight on VH1,” which was hosted by Tameka Cottle. She was the host of the show “The Culturelist,” which aired on the sister channel of BET called Centric.

In 2013, she at long last began to earn the recognition in the music industry that was so much deserved. She became a member of the Epic Records family in 2013, and on September 3, 2013, she released her second studio album titled “Love and War.” The title track of the album was a financial triumph, and it topped the Adult R&B Songs list for a total of nine weeks at No. 1 position.

The song “The One,” which was featured on the album “Love and War,” was a commercial success and made it onto the chart of the top R&B/hip-hop singles. The album was similarly successful in the United States, with the first week of sales totaling 114,000 copies. Braxton has stated that this album faithfully depicts who she is since it is incisive, outspoken, and packed with a lot of high-energy content.

Between the years 2013 and 2016, Braxton served as a co-host of the chat show ‘The Real,’ which was produced by Fox Broadcasting Company and was quite successful. In September of 2013, the second season of the ‘Tamar & Vince’ show made its premiere. This season featured the couple’s preparations for the birth of their child, as well as the delivery of the child itself, as well as the launch of ‘Love and War.’

On November 11, 2013, the release of ‘Winter Loversland,’ Braxton’s first album specifically dedicated to the Christmas season, took place. In its first week of release, it achieved Billboard 200 chart placement with sales of 8,000 copies.

The year 2014 was another one that was full with interesting happenings. She was a featured artist on the reworked version of Robin Thicke’s track “For the Rest of My Life,” which was released in February of 2014. In October, the first episode of Tamar & Vince’s third season aired. In October, Braxton also released her newest single, which was titled “Let Me Know.” This song reached its highest position on the Billboard Trending 140 chart.

The single titled “If I Don’t Have You” was released in May of 2015, and it reached its highest position on the chart of Adult R&B Songs in the United States at No. 6. In September, both the song “Catfish” and the album “Calling All Lovers” were made available for purchase and download. The song “Angels & Demons” was made available as a single in the month of September.

The holiday album titled “Braxton Family Christmas” debuted at the top spot on the US Heatseekers Albums list during the month of December. In May of 2016, her position on “The Real” was terminated. 112th Street Productions announced in June 2016 that they had brought her on to develop her own talk show and television series. She also parted ways with Epic Records and joined eOne Music in a deal worth one million dollars.

In April of 2017, she disseminated the single titled “My Man,” which was to be included on her forthcoming fifth studio album. Tamar Braxton’s songs “Love and War” (the title tune) and “The One” (back-to-back smash from her album of the same name) are, collectively, her finest works to date. The album titled “Love and War” features a wide variety of songs that are both powerful and moving.

The reality series “Braxton Family Values” on WEtv as well as “Tamar and Vince” are among her most successful works for television. Tamar, along with other members of her family, has starred in a number of successful television programs. Additionally, she became well-known with her appearances on the entertaining discussion show “The Real” broadcast on Fox-TV. It was ranked first as the pilot episode with the highest ratings in the annals of talk show history.

Tamar Braxton wed her first spouse, a music producer named Darrell Delite Allamby, in 2001. Darrell Delite Allamby was her first husband. The marriage did not work out for the pair, and they got a divorce in 2003 as a result.
She began a relationship with Vincent Herbert, a record executive, in 2003, and on November 27, 2008, the two of them got married. On June 6, 2013, they had their first child, a son named Logan.

Vitiligo is one of her conditions; in addition, doctors discovered that she has pulmonary embolisms in both of her lungs. In November of 2014, she presented her first collection of shoes and ready-to-wear clothes under the name Tamar Collection. In October of 2016, it was reported in the media that her marriage was in trouble, and that on one occasion, following a confrontation between her and her husband at home, the police were called and Braxton was hospitalized.

She enrolled in college at the age of 38 after being encouraged to do so by First Lady Michelle Obama. In addition to that, she is currently writing her novel, which is named “Love and War.”
