Timothy Olyphant Bio

Timothy Olyphant is a well-known American actor and producer. He is best known for his roles in the television shows “Justified” and “Deadwood,” as well as the film “Hitman.” Timothy earned the childhood nick moniker “Olyphantastic” due to his various skills throughout his life. The actor has participated in multiple activities, including athletics, arts, and, most recently, acting.

After participating in several auditions, Timothy was offered a part in the pilot episode of a television series, which eventually led him to launch his career in the theatre. In later years, he was cast in various notable productions, some of which required him to provide his voice. Because of his outstanding work on the film, Timothy has been nominated for several awards and won four of them.

Timothy was born on May 20, 1968, in Honolulu, Hawaii, to his parents, JV Bevan Olyphant, who had previously worked as the vice president of production at ‘Gallo Winery,’ and Katherine. Timothy relocated to Modesto, California, when he was only two years old. There, he spent his childhood years with his elder brother, Andrew, and his younger brother, Matthew.

When Timothy was a teenager, his parents went through with a divorce. Both of them went on to have second marriages. Timothy is a member of the New York Vanderbilt family and a descendant of that family. Timothy’s ancestry includes English, German, Scottish, Dutch, Irish, and Russian Jewish.

Timothy attended the ‘Fred C. Beyer High School’ in Modesto for his secondary education. He had a keen interest in painting and sketching as a child. Also a competitive swimmer, Timothy competed in the 1986 ‘Nationals’ and made it to the finals of the 200-meter individual medley competition.

Peter Daland was Timothy’s swim coach at the University of Southern California. He swam for the university’s swim squad, which was recruited by the athletic team known as the “USC Trojans.” Timothy seriously considered pursuing a career in architecture for his further education. Still, in the end, he decided to concentrate on fine arts instead since he wanted to swim competitively simultaneously.

Timothy received his degree in fine arts in 1990 and graduated from college. He toyed with the idea of pursuing a career in commercial painting but was unsure. Therefore, he submitted his application for a master’s degree in fine arts at the ‘University of California, Irvine.’ At the same time, he became the swimming coach of the ‘Irvine’ swim team known as ‘Novaquatics.’ After that, Timothy uprooted his life and relocated to the Big Apple to expand his professional horizons.

Timothy spent half a year doing stand-up comedy, which sparked an interest in acting inside him. Soon after, he decided to pursue a career in acting. After that, during his senior year at UC Irvine, he decided to take an optional course in the trade, which he described as “really enjoyable.” After that, Timothy attended the ‘William Esper Studio’ in New York for a two-year acting school.

Since 1991, Timothy has been married to Alexis Knief, the woman he fell in love with while attending college. Their names are Grace, Katherine, Henry, and Vivian, and they have three children. Timothy worked as a radio sports reporter for Joe Escalante’s morning program that was broadcast on ‘Indie 103.1’ in Los Angeles from 2006 till the latter part of 2008.
