Tyler Gregory Okonma was birth on March 6th, 1991, in the city of Ladera Heights, which is in California. His father was born in Nigeria, while his mother was born in Canada of white and Afro-American descent. He is of Nigerian descent. As a result of his father’s abandonment of his mother, Tyler has never met his biological father.
He and his sister, Lynda, spent their childhood in their hometown. Beginning at seven, he would substitute his quirky record covers for those of previously owned albums. They used to have a list of tracks, a title track, and information on each song’s length. During his 12 years of schooling, he split his time between various schools. He changed schools once every single academic year. These educational institutions were all found in the more excellent Los Angeles and Sacramento areas.
At fourteen, he had already developed a strong interest in music. He wanted to be able to play a musical instrument, so he taught himself how to play the piano and became an accomplished pianist quickly.
When he was a kid, he had a lot of physical prowess. In his teenage years, he received a skateboard as a present. He had no formal instruction, but he learned to operate it by playing the “Pro Skater 4” computer game and viewing other videos online. At school, he only spent a little time mingling with other students. He was pretty reserved and quiet, but as he approached his senior year, he steadily gained popularity among his peers. When his classmates learned about his musical abilities, they immediately adopted him.
Before he became successful in the music industry, he had jobs at ‘FedEx’ for a total of two weeks and at ‘Starbucks’ for a total of two years. Ultimately, he gave up working random jobs and settled on making music his full-time occupation. Tyler Gregory Okonma, better known by his stage name “Tyler, The Creator,” is a successful American rapper, record producer, composer, and video director.
He is also one of the co-founders of the successful hip-hop collective known as “Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All.” He started his career by posting songs on Tumblr, which immediately gained widespread popularity and brought him general notice. Tyler’s first mixtape, titled “Bastard,” was self-produced, and he quickly followed it up with his first album, titled “Goblin.” Even though he had a difficult upbringing, he was always able to find peace in creating his creative music, even when he was very young. Most of his songs continue to include lines representing his troubled history.
He has appeared as a guest performer on some of the most popular television series, including “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon,” “The Mindy Project,” and “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” In addition, he is the master of ceremonies for the annual ‘Camp Flog Gnaw’ carnival, which takes place in Exposition Park in Los Angeles and is attended by music enthusiasts worldwide. He has had the privilege of collaborating with major music labels, including “XL Recordings,” “Sony Music Entertainment,” and “RED Distribution,” among others. He recently launched his clothing brand under “Golf Wang,” marking his entry into the garment sector. The unique contribution that Tyler has made as an artist and performer has earned him several awards and honors.
The year 2009 saw Tyler’s first mixtape production and release, which he labeled “Bastard.” His mixtape was highly successful, and it was ranked number 32 on ‘Pitchfork Media’s list of the Top Albums of 2010, even though he did not market it under any banner. Following the release of his debut mixtape, he earned a record contract with the label XL Recordings. Soon after that, he announced that he would be collaborating with the company on an album, and not long after that, the first song from the album, titled “Yonkers,” was broadcast on the radio.
The song video was a huge success and featured prominently on charts and prominent music programs. 2010 saw the publication of his album titled “Goblin,” which was met with favorable reception. As a result, he was invited to play at various performances and concerts. In 2011, he had his debut appearance on television on the show “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon,” when he played the song “Sandwiches.” He also performed on the “Jimmy Kimmel Live” show and the “MTV Awards.” Following the release of his first studio album, Tyler started working with other rap artists and contributing to the albums and songs of other artists. Additionally, he contributed to the production of pieces by other musicians.
In 2011, he was one of the founding members of the hip-hop group “Odd Future.” Other founding members were Matt Martians, Hodgy, Left Brain, Pyramid Vritra, Casey Veggies, and Jasper Dolphin. After that, other members such as Jeff Tremaine, Simitry Elyashkevich, Lace Bangs, and many other artists joined the group. The band ‘Odd Future’ debuted their very own television program, produced by ‘Dickhouse Productions’ and shown on the ‘Adult Swim’ channel of the Cartoon Network. The year 2012 saw the debut of the television program known as “Loiter Squad.”
Pranks and music written by ‘Odd Future’ were included in this live-action comic sketch television series that lasted ten to fifteen minutes per episode. The television program aired for a total of three seasons and had a total of 31 episodes. Tyler announced on social media that he has started working on his second album, which will be titled “Wolf,” and that it would have more instrumental music than rap songs. Although the album was anticipated to be released in 2012, it appeared on store shelves at the beginning of 2013.
