Wil Wheaton Bio

Wil Wheaton is most recognized for his role as Wesley Crusher on Star Trek: The Next Generation, which he played during the first four seasons of the show. Even though he stopped appearing on the program after the episode “Final Mission,” he did so as a guest star four more times: twice in the fifth and seventh seasons.

Wheaton had a short appearance as Wesley at the beginning of Star Trek Nemesis, during William T. Riker and Deanna Troi’s wedding. Most of his sequences from this film were removed, but they have been included on the DVD for the Special Edition. According to Wheaton’s blog, he returned to the Star Trek series in 2009 by providing the voices of many members of Nero’s Romulan crew in J.J. Abrams’s Star Trek, including the member of the team that Joe Quinto portrayed.

On January 18 in, 2017, it was announced that an asteroid, 391257 Wilwheaton, would be named after him. He shares This honor with fellow Star Trek alumni George Takei and Nichelle Nichols, as well as the creator of Star Trek himself, Gene Roddenberry. At this time, Wheaton is the presenter of the Star Trek aftershow known as The Ready Room, which is presently in its second season.

Wheaton was born in the city of Burbank in the state of California. In 1999, they were wed. Anne Prince was his bride. He now resides with his wife and two stepsons in Pasadena, California. Wheaton debuted as a television actor in the 1981 film A Long Way Home, in which he portrayed the younger version of the protagonist character.

This role marked Wheaton’s first appearance on television. After that, he provided his voice for the nature of Martin in the hit film The Secret of NIMH, directed by Don Bluth in 1982. Following that, he had roles in the movie Hambone and Hillie, The Buddy System, and The Last Starfighter. Wheaton spoke in the latter picture; however, the sections that included his words were removed during the post-production process. Other notable actors in “The Last Starfighter” have Marc Alaimo, Barbara Bosson, and Meg Wyllie.

Before he was hired in the part of Wesley Crusher, Wheaton was best known for his performance as Gordie LaChance in the critically acclaimed film Stand by Me, which was released in 1986 and was directed by Rob Reiner and also starred Jerry O’Connell in the latter’s acting debut. Wheaton was then cast as Wesley Crusher on Star Trek: The Next Generation.

In the year that followed, Wheaton had a recurring role on an episode of Family Ties, co-starring with Brian Bonsall. Just as Wheaton was wrapping up his run on TNG, Bonsall first appeared on the show as Alexander Rozhenko. In 1987, Wheaton also appeared in the television movie The Man Who Fell to Earth with Robert Picardo and Bruce McGill. He also acted alongside his sister Amy in the horror thriller The Curse, released that year.

Following his time on The Next Generation, Wil Wheaton appeared in the film Toy Soldiers with Michael Champion as Joey Trotta, a student at an exclusive prep school. In the 1993 indie drama The Liars’ Club, he had a role with DS9 actor Aron Eisenberg. In the 1995 direct-to-video horror film Mr. Stitch, he shared a part with Ron Perlman. In addition, he appeared in the movie Pie in the Sky in 1996 in a supporting role.

Although he has mainly worked on indie films, he did make a short comeback to popular cinema when he was cast in the Disney comedy Flubber in 1997. He appeared in the movie with his “Yesterday’s Enterprise” co-stars Christopher McDonald and Clancy Brown. Although he has worked primarily on small films, he briefly returned to mainstream cinema. His latter work in indie films includes Jane White Is Sick & Twisted (2002), Foreign Correspondents (1999), and The Girls’ Room (2000). The Melbourne Underground Picture Festival presented him with the prize for Best Actor in recognition of his work in the latter picture.

Wheaton was employed by the independent film production business United Film Organization (UFO) in 2000, where he worked on two separate films. The first was the science fiction thriller Deep Core, in which he acted with Terry Farrell from DS9 and Bruce McGill, who appeared in a guest role on Trek: Voyager. The second movie was a horror picture called “Python,” featuring Sean Whalen and a giant snake.

In 2005, he appeared as a guest star in an episode of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation with Wallace Langham, a guest on Voyager. In October 2007, Wheaton filmed an episode of the CBS series Numbers centered on a science fiction and comic book convention. In the episode named “Graphic,” Wheaton plays the role of a despicable comic book artist who is victimized by the theft of a precious and rare comic that he has. Christopher Lloyd, who appeared in Star Trek III: The Search for Spock, also had a role in this episode as the artist of the book that had been taken from Wil Wheaton’s character. This episode was broadcast on November 23, 2007.

Wheaton appeared as a special guest star in an episode of the television show Criminal Minds that aired on CBS on October 22, 2008. On his blog and his most recent book, “Sunken Treasure,” Wheaton recounts the events that transpired while working on the production. In addition, he was a guest star in the episode of Leverage titled “The Two Live Crew Job” that aired on August 26, 2009, with Noa Tishby.

In 2009, Wil Wheaton had a guest appearance on the CBS comedy The Big Bang Theory, in which his Star Trek identity as Wesley Crusher was prominently recognized. In this part, Wheaton played himself, an “evil” version of himself. Wheaton announced in 2010 that he would be “playing Evil Wil Wheaton again” for an episode that was sch begin filming on March 2, 2010.

Wheaton later appeared in several series episodes, becoming the most frequent recurring guest star with a Star Trek background in the process. This is because Wheaton kept his promise to appear in the series. In the episode “The Russian Rocket Reaction” from the show’s fifth season, Wheaton and co-star Brent Spiner appeared together again.

In 2001, Wheaton appeared on the game program The Weakest Link: Star Trek Edition with LeVar Burton, Denise Crosby, John de Lancie, Roxann Dawson, Robert Picardo, Armin Shimerman, and William Shatner. Wheaton was also a participant in the show. Wheaton collaborated with Seth MacFarlane, the creator of Family Guy, on MacFarlane’s online series Cavalcade, which aired in 2008. Wheaton appeared as a guest star in the third season of The Guild in 2009. The Guild is a program that can only be seen online and follows the participants of a massively multiplayer online role-playing game.

Wheaton appeared in a 30-second commercial for Lincoln Motor Company vehicles in 2013, shown in the United States during the broadcast of Super Bowl XLVII. The commercial was seen in the United States. Wheaton participated as a guest player in the live-streamed Dungeons & Dragons game Critical Role in 2015. Other special guests on the show were Mary Elizabeth McGlynn, Sumalee Montano, and Mica Burton, LeVar Burton’s daughter.
