Lee Edward Unkrich is an American film director, film editor, screenwriter, and animator. He was born on August 8, 1967, in the United States. After beginning his career at Pixar in 1994 as a film editor, he became a longstanding part of the company’s creative team. After that, he got into filmmaking, debuting with Toy Story 2 as a co-director. Unkrich made his debut as a sole director with Toy Story 3 in 2010 and most recently directed Coco in 2017, both of which won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature and the Academy Award for Best Original Song.
